It was brought to the United States by the Joseph Bratka family from New Jersey and introduced to the Seed Savers Exchange in 1991. It is a mid-early variety, with fruit ripening in about 70-80 days after planting.

The fruit is smooth, round, dark pink or purple-pink, weighing 140-200 grams, free from discoloration and blemishes, making it very visually appealing.
