Redfield Beauty, also known as Hastings’
Redfield Beauty, was marketed by H. G. Hastings & Co. in the late 19th century. Its flattened pink fruit is characterized by a deep aroma and excellent flavor. The fruit is not very large, generally not exceeding 350 grams. It reaches maturity about 80 days after transplanting. The plant grows tall and requires staking or tying.
The Hastings catalog from the spring of 1928 includes a description of its purple-pink fruit and its versatile uses. This is a preserved record of a variety that subsequent generations of gardeners continue to grow.
