Indian Zebra is an American variety associated with seeds preserved by Clyde Burson of Arkansas. In collectors’ accounts, it appears alongside Indian Stripe; Burson used both names. In our observations, “Indian Zebra” produces larger fruit, which is why we list it as a separate variety. The fruit, weighing up to 300 grams, is very fleshy and has a slightly mahogany hue. The flavor is very rich, with a slightly smoky note. It bears fruit very well. The fruit reaches maturity approximately 85 days after transplanting. The plant grows tall and requires staking or tying up. This variety is also known as “Indian Zebra Burson Strain.”
