The fruits of the Black Prince variety contain significant amounts of lycopene. This substance belongs to the group of carotenoids and can be found in all tomatoes, but in different amounts. Studies have shown that the consumption of tomatoes has a protective effect against gastrointestinal neoplasms and reduces the risk of cancer death by 50% in elderly people. Tomatoes and other products containing lycopene should be especially recommended to men who are at risk of developing prostate cancer or already struggling with this disease. Small fruits, reaching 60 to 80 grams, are dark in color and have a surprising interior in terms of color intensity. They are sweet, very aromatic with a slightly fruity note.
