A unique tomato that was brought to Virginia by the Mennonites who settled there around 1800. The tall plants, depending on the method of cultivation, produce large fruits weighing 0.5 - 0.9 kg. The fruit is very fleshy, a steak type, very tasty and aromatic, sweet and winey. The skin of the fruit is thin, orange with reddish streaks. The fruit is almost seedless. High-growing variety, requiring tethering.
