A tall plant with beautiful, very large, and exceptionally fleshy fruits weighing 500–800 g. The skin is thin, and the flesh features a combination of red and gold colors. The fruit is sweet, very aromatic, and juicy. It contains very few seeds. It bears fruit approximately 80 days after planting. This variety originates from Mexico. It can be grown in open ground or under cover, though it performs better under cover.
In conservation collections, it is associated with the horticultural traditions of the Zapotec people from the Mexican state of Oaxaca. It’s worth comparing its golden-red flesh to “Copia,” a variety created by crossing “Marvel Striped” with “Green Zebra.”
