A tall-growing tomato with orange fruit. The elongated fruit, about 10 cm long and weighing about 80 g, is very tasty and has a high dry matter content, making it ideal for drying. It can be trained to grow on two shoots.
Seeds of this Russian variety were added to the Seed Savers Exchange collection thanks to Marina Danilenko of Moscow. They appeared in the exchange’s annual catalog in 1994. Orange Banana shows that a tomato intended for drying and thick sauces can also produce a beautiful orange color.
