The "Paul Robeson
" variety is a tomato native to Russia, named in honor of the famous American singer, actor, and civil rights activist Paul Robeson. It is an open-pollinated variety known for its deep, rich flavor, which combines sweetness with delicate, earthy, smoky notes. The fruits are dark red, almost mahogany in color, with green or purple accents on the shoulders. They weigh between 150 and 400 grams and are slightly flattened in shape.
The plant is tall, which means it requires supports and regular care. In our cultivation, it also performs well during the cooler season. The plants are high-yielding and produce crops in the mid-season—the fruits ripen after about 75–80 days.
Due to its excellent flavor, which is particularly appreciated by lovers of dark tomatoes, it is often chosen for salads, sandwiches, and as a fresh addition to dishes.
