Waterfalls

Also known as: aquatic shoots

Water shoots are vigorous shoots that most often develop after damage to the growing tip or very severe pruning. They are characterized by rapid growth and long internodes. In tomato cultivation, this term is used much less frequently than the term “suckers,” though the two phenomena are similar. It is best to remove a sucker while it is still small; after the main terminal bud is lost, one healthy lateral shoot can be left as a replacement.
