Vegetation

Also known as: growing season

The growing season refers to the entire period of a plant’s active growth and development—from the start of germination until the end of the season. During this time, the tomato plant develops roots, leaves, flowers, and fruit. The length of the growing season depends on the variety and environmental conditions. The length of the local growing season should be taken into account when selecting a variety and determining the sowing and planting dates.
