Variety Breeding

Variety breeding is the process of creating new tomato varieties through crossbreeding, selection, and long-term evaluation of the offspring. The goal of breeding may be to improve flavor, increase yield, enhance disease resistance, extend fruit shelf life, or develop new colors and shapes. Breeding a stable variety often requires several to over a dozen years of work.
