The First Group

The first cluster is the first inflorescence produced by a young plant after it has developed a certain number of leaves. The timing of its appearance depends on the variety and growing conditions and indicates the start of generative growth. However, it does not mean the end of vegetative growth, as the tomato plant can continue to produce leaves, shoots, and additional clusters. A well-developed first cluster is an important indicator of seedling quality.
