Soil Liming
Soil liming involves the application of liming materials to reduce soil acidity and raise the pH. This treatment supplies calcium and, depending on the material used, may also replenish magnesium. The need for liming and the application rate should be determined based on a soil analysis, taking into account the soil’s pH and type. Liming is not performed routinely, as excessively raising the pH limits the availability of certain nutrients.
