Seed chambers

Seed chambers are spaces inside the fruit that contain nasiona surrounded by gelatinous tissue. Their number is a varietal characteristic and can range from two to more than a dozen. Large-fruited varieties usually have more chambers than cherry tomatoes. The number of chambers affects, among other things, the amount of flesh and the appearance of the fruit’s cross-section.
