Root Damping

Root rot occurs when the soil remains excessively waterlogged for an extended period and lacks oxygen. The roots stop breathing properly, their ability to absorb nutrients is reduced, and they become susceptible to soil-borne diseases. The symptoms often resemble those of drought—the plant wilts despite the wet soil. You should stop watering, restore drainage and aeration to the soil, and refrain from fertilizing until the roots begin to function properly.
