Moderate fertilization

Moderate fertilization involves providing nutrients in amounts that match the plant’s actual needs. Tomatoes respond much better to regular, small doses of fertilizer than to occasional, heavy applications. An excess of nutrients often causes more harm than a slight deficiency. Fertilization should be based on a soil or growing medium analysis and the product instructions, and the next dose should be applied only after assessing the plants’ response.
