Inter-node

An internode is the section of the stem between two consecutive nodes from which leaves grow. The length of the internodes depends on the variety, the amount of light, the temperature, and the plant’s hormonal balance. Short internodes usually indicate a compact plant structure, while excessively long internodes may indicate a lack of light or excessively high temperatures.
