Hybridization

Hybridization is the process of controlled crossbreeding between two different varieties or breeding lines to produce offspring with new traits. It is the primary method for creating hybrids F1 and new stable varieties. In tomato breeding, it is used, among other things, to combine high-quality fruit with disease resistance.
