Humidity hysteresis

Moisture hysteresis describes the phenomenon in which a growing medium retains water differently during drying than during rewatering. This is particularly important in peat and coconut coir growing media, as well as in professional seedling production. Understanding this phenomenon helps to better plan watering and avoid over-drying the root ball.
