Homeostasis

Homeostasis is a plant’s ability to maintain relatively stable internal conditions despite changes in the environment. Thanks to this ability, a tomato plant can cope with fluctuations in temperature, humidity, or nutrient availability for a certain period of time. However, prolonged or excessive stress leads to a disruption of homeostasis and the appearance of damage symptoms.
