Foliage

Also known as: foliage

Foliage refers to the number and arrangement of leaves on a plant. An appropriate number of leaves ensures effective photosynthesis and shields the fruit from excessive sunlight. However, excessive foliage reduces airflow and increases the risk of disease. The goal of tomato cultivation is to maintain a balance between leaf area and the number of fruits. You should primarily remove diseased, old, or overly dense leaves, leaving healthy leaves to shade the fruit.
