Fertilizer Efficiency
Fertilizer efficiency determines what proportion of the applied nutrients is actually taken up and utilized by the plant. It depends not only on the amount of fertilizer applied, but also on soil pH, temperature, moisture, microorganism activity, and the condition of the root system. Even well-fertilized tomatoes may show signs of nutrient deficiencies if the nutrients remain unavailable to the roots. Regular, balanced fertilization yields significantly better results than a single application of high doses of fertilizer.
