Disinfection of Tools

Tools used when caring for tomatoes can spread bacteria, viruses, and fungi from one plant to another. Regularly disinfecting pruning shears, knives, or scissors significantly reduces the risk of spreading disease. This is especially important when removing leaves and pruning plants. Before disinfecting, remove any plant debris and follow the instructions on the label; after working on a suspicious plant, clean the tool before moving on to the next one.
