Bumblebees

Bumblebees are the most important pollinators used in professional greenhouse tomato cultivation. During vibratory pollination, they use their flight muscles to vibrate the flowers and anthers, effectively releasing pollen. This usually improves fruit set, can increase seed count, and promotes more uniform fruit size and weight. However, the effect also depends on the variety and growing conditions. In a small tunnel, a similar effect can be achieved by gently shaking the clusters; when bumblebees are present, avoid treatments that are harmful to pollinators and always check the product label.
