Brown Sugar is a dark tomato with uniform, round fruits that weigh 100–150 g here. A thin skin envelops the fleshy, juicy pulp, in which a distinct sweetness blends with a delicate tartness. We love using it in salads, on sandwiches, and eaten raw; it also makes mild sauces.
This variety is known in collections as the Russian tomato “Brown Sugar.” The plant grows tall, has regular leaves, and requires staking. Here, the first fruits ripen about 75 days after transplanting.
If you like dark, hand-sized tomatoes, compare this one to “Brazilian Beauty.” Both varieties are well-suited for fresh consumption, but each has its own flavor and character.
