Buffalo Heart Giant brings to mind the taste of a large, meaty tomato on a childhood sandwich. The pink, heart-shaped fruits can reach about 800 g here. It’s a good idea to provide them with sturdy support—the plant grows tall, and the heavy fruits weigh down the clusters.
Gary Ibsen of TomatoFest wrote about the Polish origin of this variety; he received seeds from a family farm in Poland. This is an interesting example of how seeds make their way from home gardens to international collections. In our selection, the “Buffalo Heart” variety features a similar type of meaty fruit.
