This variety is ideal for commercial cultivation: the fruits are small (up to 150 grams), round, and firm; they withstand transport very well and have an intense flavor and aroma. The plants are short and determinate. The fruit ripens about 65 days after transplanting. The variety originates from Quebec and is associated with the breeding work of Roger Doucet.
The entry PI 399462 is preserved in the U.S. plant germplasm inventory: the seeds (Rosabec) were submitted by Roger Doucet from the research station in Saint-Hyacinthe, Quebec. The seeds were received on April 8, 1975, with a description of a bushy plant bearing smooth, pink fruits.
