Indigo Cherry Drops was developed as part of Jim Myers’ tomato breeding program at Oregon State University. The university describes it as the next evolution in the series following “Indigo Rose,” with improved flavor and yield.
In our garden, it grows taller, produces a bountiful harvest, and the fruits in the clusters ripen more evenly. They are smaller than those of Indigo Rose: the average weight does not exceed 50 g. The dark skin and small size make them ideal for salads and as a snack.
This is a mid-late variety, ripening about 78 days after planting the seedlings. The very tall plants require sturdy staking or tying up.
