An intriguing tomato variety with deeply ridged fruits, which may be the origin of its name (bear’s claws). The fruits are deep pink, large, and have a fantastic flavor. This is a late-season variety; the fruits ripen about 85 days after planting. The plants are tall and require staking or trellising.

Bear Claw has been recorded in Seed Savers Exchange listings since 1984. The large, meaty fruits show their best when cut into thick slices.
