The Prune Noire variety comes from Russia or Moldova and is known for its unique, dark fruit color, which is reddish-brown with green shoulders. The fruits of this variety are small, weighing about 25-80 grams, have an oval, slightly elongated shape, resembling a plum. The fruit flesh is compact, juicy, and the taste is exceptionally sweet with a slight hint of acidity and a spicy accent, which gives them a characteristic, smoky aftertaste.
The plant is very productive, producing full clusters of fruits, 6-8 pieces on each cluster, which makes it have a high commercial value. The skin of the fruit is quite hard, which ensures good durability and resistance to transport. Tomatoes ripen after about 80-85 days from planting, which makes this a late variety. The plants are tall, reaching about 160 cm and require support in the form of staking.
