An old variety native to Kentucky, in the United States. According to an account preserved in TOMATObase, the seeds were given to Hobart Pearson of Berea by an Amish family from Liberty. Thanks to subsequent gardeners, this heirloom variety has survived beyond the place where it was traditionally grown for many years. The fruits are very large, with an intense red color, weighing up to one kilogram, round, and flattened. A classic beefsteak tomato. The fruits reach maturity approximately 85 days after planting. The plant is tall and requires staking or tying up. It deserves a place in every garden.
