Incredibly green cherry-type fruits with an intensely sweet, tomato-like flavor and a delicate skin. Perfect as snacks and for preserves. The name “Frosted” refers to the fruits’ appearance, which resembles light-colored grapes. This effect is due to the colorless skin, not to fuzz. The fruit reaches maturity about 82 days after transplanting. The plant grows tall and requires staking or tying up.
In 2009, Jeff Casey and Neil Lockhart independently observed a similar change in the skin color of the “Green Doctors” variety. Together with Carolyn Male, they named it “Green Doctors Frosted.” Therefore, ripeness should not be judged solely by waiting for the fruit to turn yellow—it is also worth checking for a slight softening of the fruit.
