Cherokee Green Pear has been one of our favorite varieties for years. The pear-shaped fruits weigh up to about 150 g; they are very sweet and juicy, and their smooth, glossy skin withstands harvesting well. This tomato is perfect for snacking, sauces, and preserves, with a look as intriguing as its taste.
The pear-shaped form was selected by Marianna Jones of Tennessee from the “Cherokee Green” variety. Ripe fruits retain green flesh; the amber hue of the skin and a slight softening help indicate when to harvest.
Here, it matures about 80 days after transplanting. The plant grows tall and requires staking or tying up.
