One of the earliest varieties on the market. The first fruits ripen as early as 62 days after planting. A determinate plant, very short and compact—this variety is ideal for growing in cooler climates as well as in areas where space is limited. The fruits are small, weighing no more than 50–70 grams, intensely red, sweet, and have a delicate, tender skin. A great variety for the start of the season.
It belongs to the Sub-Arctic series, developed at the Beaverlodge Research Station in Alberta, Canada, with the short growing season in mind. The “Sub Arctic Plenty” variety represents a similar approach to cultivation.
