Indigo Blueberries produces small, round tomatoes with dark red skin that turns almost black in areas exposed to sunlight. The dark color is due to anthocyanins. The Brad Gates variety from Wild Boar Farms is also known as Blue Berries or Blue Boar Berries.

In our opinion, these tomatoes are sweeter than “Indigo Rose,” though their skin is slightly tougher. They handle shipping well and are resistant to cracking. They’re convenient for snacking and adding color to salads.

They ripen about 75 days after the seedlings are transplanted. The dark skin appears before the fruit is fully ripe, so it’s best to wait until the rest of the fruit has fully colored.
