This variety is also known as Dixie Golden Giant. According to the information provided with the seeds, it has been grown by the Amish since the 1930s. It appeared in the Seed Savers Exchange yearbook in 1994 thanks to Ron E. Thuma, who received the seeds from Minnie Zaccaria. The vigorous plants require staking. It produces a bountiful harvest of tomatoes weighing between 400 and 900 grams, with thin skin and very pleasant, velvety flesh. Occasionally, a slight red blush may appear on the most ripe fruits. The fruits, which are an intense yellow color, reach maturity about 75 days after transplanting.
