A Siberian variety native to the Altai Mountains on the border with China. These tall plants produce medium-sized, red-pink, fleshy fruits weighing 300–450 g. They begin bearing fruit early—about 68 days after transplanting. They have a wonderful flavor and aroma. Excellent for sandwiches, salads, and juices.
In foreign collections, it is most commonly known as “Gregori’s Altai.” This spelling helps identify descriptions of the variety without altering its Altai origin.
