A tall-growing variety with delicious, fleshy, and very large (400–600 g) fruits. It offers an excellent balance of acidity and sweetness with a classic tomato aroma. This variety bears fruit abundantly until the first frosts, yielding a very high total harvest. With proper cultivation, this variety can produce record-breaking specimens. It begins bearing fruit approximately 85 days after transplanting. Suitable for both open-field and plastic-tunnel cultivation.
The name is associated with the Church family of Hot Springs, Virginia, who preserved this variety. The tomato was also prized by American collector Chuck Wyatt—the large fruits have survived thanks to gardeners passing the seeds down through the generations.
