The Omar’s Lebanese variety originates from Lebanon and was introduced to the market in 1996 by Carolyn Male, who obtained the seeds from Omar Saab, an immigrant from Lebanon. This plant is tall, with regular foliage, which requires staking or support. The variety is distinguished by its large, fleshy beefsteak-type fruits, which can weigh anywhere from 450 grams to as much as 1.5 kg.

The fruits are deep pink, have a delicate skin, and are juicy and very aromatic. Tomatoes of this variety have a mild, complex flavor, well-balanced between sweetness and acidity. The variety is very productive. The fruits ripen approximately 75–80 days after transplanting, making it a mid-late variety. It’s a good idea to provide additional support for the heavy clusters so they don’t weigh down the stems.

This is the perfect choice for lovers of large, tasty tomatoes that are ideal for sandwiches, salads, and preserves.
