The Omar’s Lebanese variety comes from Lebanon and was introduced to the market in 1996 thanks to Carolyn Male, who obtained seeds from Omar Saab, a Lebanese immigrant. This plant is tall, with regular leaves, which requires support or staking. The variety is distinguished by large, fleshy, beefsteak-type fruits, which can reach a weight of 450 grams to even 1.5 kg, and in some cases the fruits reach up to 3 kg.
The fruits are intensely pink-red, have a delicate skin, are juicy and very aromatic. Tomatoes of this variety have a mild, complex flavor, well balanced between sweetness and acidity. The variety is highly productive and resistant to diseases. The fruits ripen after about 75-80 days from planting, which makes it a medium-late variety. Thanks to its high resistance to difficult conditions, Omar’s Lebanese works well in various climates.
This is the perfect choice for lovers of large, tasty tomatoes, which are perfect for sandwiches, salads and preserves.
