If you are looking for a tomato with a slightly different flavor than the other varieties, check out the varieties originating in Germany. German Head is an old German variety of mid-late tomato with a distinctive aftertaste that is difficult to put into words. It bears fruit quite abundantly around 80 days after planting, and the nicely shaped fruit has a slightly thicker skin than similar American varieties. The weight of a single fruit ranges from 40 grams to a kilogram, and its interior is uniformly dark pink. It is worth noting that the fruit is very resistant to breaking.
