A tall-growing tomato variety, perfect for stuffing, sandwiches, salads, and juices. Heavy-bearing. The red fruits are very tasty, uniform in size, weighing up to 150 grams, flattened, and deeply ribbed around the circumference. A 72-day variety for open ground, but it can also be planted under cover.
It also appears in the Seed Savers Exchange collection as “Rosso Sicilian.” The seeds were contributed by Ann Fuller of Indiana, who received them from a man who brought a family heirloom tomato from Sicily in 1987. The deeply ribbed slices reminded her of red flowers.
