A tall-growing tomato that produces an excellent crop throughout the season. The dark pink fruits with thin skin are very fleshy and have an excellent flavor. The clusters are very uniform, with fruits weighing about 400–500 g each, though some can reach up to 1 kg. An excellent tomato for sandwiches, salads, and juices. The juice from “Mexico” fruits is thick and rich.

Mexico was introduced to the Seed Savers Exchange in 1996 thanks to Carolyn Male. She received the seeds from a reader of the “Off the Vine” newsletter. This trace in the history of seed collecting shows how correspondence between gardeners helped preserve heirloom varieties.
