A tall-growing tomato variety with potato-like leaves. The pink, thin-skinned fruits are juicy and fleshy, and exceptionally tasty. They are considered on par with the
Brandywine variety, and some even say they are better than it. Fruit weight: 300–600 g. An excellent tomato for sandwiches and salads.
In some sources, you’ll find it spelled “Aunt Ginny’s Purple.” According to Tatiana’s TOMATObase, the variety was submitted to the Seed Savers Exchange in 1991 by Rick Burkhart of Indiana, whose family had been growing it for many years. Despite the word “Purple” in the name, the fruits are deep pink, as can be clearly seen in our photos.
