Trichoderma

Trichoderma is a genus of fungi whose selected strains are used in biological plant protection. They can colonize the root zone, compete with pathogens for space and nutrients, and produce substances that inhibit the development of certain soil-borne diseases. Some strains also stimulate root growth and nutrient uptake. Effectiveness depends on the strain, the product formulation, the target pathogen, and growing conditions, and is not consistent in every situation. Select a product with a clearly described strain and intended use, apply it to the root zone according to the label instructions, and do not treat it as a cure-all for every disease.
