Organic Farming

Organic farming, in the formal sense, is a regulated system of production, inspection, and certification. It is based primarily on preventive measures, crop rotation, maintaining soil fertility, and biological, mechanical, and physical methods. Only fertilizers, plant protection products, and other products approved for such production may be used. The colloquial term “environmentally friendly farming” is not synonymous with its formal organic status.
