Growth Type
The growth habit determines how a plant develops. In tomatoes, the main distinctions are between determinate (self-terminating) and indeterminate (unlimited growth) varieties. The growth habit determines the plant’s height, the duration of the fruiting period, and how the plant is trained. You should check the variety’s growth habit before selecting supports and removing side shoots, as self-terminating and tall-growing varieties are trained differently.
