Growth inhibitors

Also known as: growth-inhibiting substances

Growth inhibitors are substances that inhibit specific plant growth processes. They include natural regulators and synthetic retardants used in certain crops. Abscisic acid (ABA) regulates, among other things, seed dormancy, stomatal closure, and stress responses, and its effect on growth depends on the tissue and conditions. In amateur tomato cultivation, synthetic growth regulators are used very rarely.
