Fruit quality encompasses all characteristics that determine its utility and commercial value. These include taste, aroma, firmness, juiciness, color, size, shelf life, and resistance to damage. Quality is determined by both varietal characteristics and growing conditions, as well as the harvest date. For most amateur gardeners, taste remains the most important quality criterion.
