Endophytic fungi

Also known as: endophytes

Endophytic fungi are microorganisms that live inside plant tissues without causing disease symptoms. Many of them promote tomato growth, increase resistance to stress, and inhibit the development of certain pathogens. Research into their use in biological plant protection is advancing rapidly, and they are likely to play an increasingly important role in modern horticulture.
