Culture medium

Also known as: fertilizer solution

A nutrient solution is an aqueous solution of minerals supplied to the roots during fertigation or hydroponic cultivation. It should contain a balanced set of macro- and micronutrients in forms accessible to plants. Its composition depends on water quality, growing medium, the tomato’s stage of development, and growing conditions; therefore, there is no single universal formula. The key parameters for nutrient solution monitoring are pH and electrical conductivity (EC).
